We are now emailing thousands of companies within the funeral industry, both in the UK and around the world, providing information about the 2011 event. Check through the posts we’ve made here on our news site or go to the main site for information on exhibiting or visiting
The Trade Association Forum’s award dinner was held last week. As finalists we were invited along and sat with our hearts in our mouths till the winners were announced. I was ready to leap in the air and give Alan Slater a very big hug, so for both our sakes its as well we didn’t get the main award!

I was at the rugby club the other day (no, i don’t play, our archery field is there – a much gentler sport) and the clubhouse was full of Jamaicans having a really good time. The reggae was blaring out of a very big sound system and everyone was dancing. We have a lot of weddings at the club so I guessed that’s what its was but on asking who the bride was I was informed that this event was in fact a funeral. It had been going on for a couple of hours and the music was still playing four hours later. Now that’s what I call a celebration of life!
When we were at BEFA, I was discussing the show with a prospective exhibitor, who asked me how much it would cost for a naked stand. I was more than confused for a few moments, and was about to explain that our rules didn’t allow that sort of thing until I realised she meant a stand without a modular system – its all in the translation I guess:)

We’ve just found out that we are finalists in the prestigious Trade Association Forum Awards. We wont know till July whether we have won but as the information sent to us says “beings short-listed is an accolade in itself” While we can feel a little proud, this award is really to the industry itself, the companies who exhibit and the many buyers who attend – thank you to all of you

Mirella Sartori, the NFE European agent, was hard at work, promoting NFE 2011 for the three days of BEFA 2010. Bookings were made from Belgium, Holland and believe it or not, Australia!

Life’s hard as an organiser, especially if he’s forgotten to arrange stand cleaning (well it comes free at NFE but not at BEFA) Luckily some friends on another stand lent us a vacuum cleaner. BEFA is the German show which runs every five years in Düsseldorf and the NFE sales team were there doing more than cleaning carpets – we are still in the process of cleaning up all the paper work after getting a stack of enquiries and bookings for our show next year

We’ve just got back from one of the best funeral exhibitions I’ve ever been to – TanExpo 2010 was nothing short of superb. Great organisation, incredible stand designs and the products were mouth watering – can you say that about a funeral show – yes you can!
Unfortunately there are people who just love to spoil it for others and find pleasure in adding information into pages which can damage a site so i’ve had to move the newspage. This may mean that you have to re-register to add info.
